Hello,

We have been collecting feedback from some of our clients. We share this with you to try and give you an insight into the work we do and the positive impact it can have.

This may give you a better insight into us, it may encourage you to get in touch if you need our help or it may help you to understand why the work we do is needed.

“Useful because it let me focus- made me focus – look at things, not differently but with a view to change. Allowed me to come up with my own strategies- coming up with my own strategies meant I couldn’t bullshit myself and because it was relevant to me – made me accountable to myself – only doing it for myself .. not here to please anyone else. Got to do it your own way or otherwise you just kick out!” 53 year old female client

“I liked the general background to alcohol – helped me in my work as a bar man- units was particularly helpful – knowing the different strengths of alcohol. It’s made me feel more confident talking to a drunk. I feel more able to say:‘Excuse me Sir; I don’t think it’s suitable to serve you anymore” 20 year old male

“Going on ARPOV helped me realise I was a criminal but it also helped me feel better at the end of it- talking in the group helped me deal with what had happened– like there is life after being banned. I now know the seriousness of what has happened and I have cut down on binge drinking – drink driving will never happen again” 30 year old male

“The whole course was engaging- the three of you were clearly enthusiastic, committed and it was well presented – non judgmental and not patronizing. Pitched right! I liked the alcohol units conversion and it was a surprise to me that there were 10 units in a bottle of wine and not 6 as I had thought. I liked the description of the stages you go through as you drink. It was thought provoking and it lead onto other things – I went onto to talk about detox and explored it. But I have now managed to get alcohol under control myself” 59 year old female

“I feel a lot better in my head, brighter and not like it was all cloudy like when I was drinking all the time” 34yr old male

“could not have done this without your help – I am continuing to cut down and I am really enjoying going to NA – looking forward to stopping completely with your support” Cannabis user – 3 years using 20 spliffs and 1 bong a day from waking to sleep.  Over a period of 6 weeks reduced to one day per week and attendance at NA.

"i really like being able to come in, sit down and have someone to talk to - who really listens " Needle exchange client

"the support has been really worthwhile, my drug use has gone from using about 7 grams of a stimulants a week right down to maybe one gram, once a month, i feel so much better and have just been promoted at work, before i was worried i would lose my job"    1:1 client

“Having a prescription and seeing someone regularly really helped. I had the will power and wanted to do it.” Client
