Sally Vanson

Sally Vanson has had a varied career spanning the Hospitality, Retail and Automotive Industries. For the last nine years she has been Chief Executive of The Performance Solution, where she coaches and mentors senior executives in UK and International organisations. Sally sits on the global research and regulation committees for the International Coach Federation. As a Visiting Fellow she leads Masters’ degree programmes at the University of Kingston and herself has two MScs in Tourism and Hospitality Management, and in Organisation Development & Neuro Linguistic Programming. Sally is currently completing Doctoral Research into identity issues in lawyers. She is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development and the author of three books. Sally is also an Ambassador for Robin Hood Ministries supporting aid to street children in Romania and Nepal and leads an EU project to mentor women (and more recently men) in the Middle East on Leadership and Entrepreneurial Skills.

Steve has spent all of his working life in HR, being HR Director at Avon Rubber and Alstom Transport UK and Cape plc, after a modern languages degree at Leicester University. He now works part time in his own HR consultancy, and in his spare time is a volunteer driver for the Link organisation, as well as working as a volunteer for the National Trust at Dyrham Park.

Trevor is a Partner in London-Risk, an independent consultancy based in the United Kingdom, specialising in financial services, including operational risk and compliance, fraud, credit risk management including credit scoring and data sharing, and related parliamentary lobbying. London-Risk provide training courses in Operational Risk, including regularly in Budapest with the Banking Association of Central and Eastern Europe, BACEE. Also at etvos loran University in Budapest, and University College London. As Chairman of Insurance Database Services Limited he founded the Insurance Fraud Bureau which covers 96% of the UK insurance industry. It acts against organised crime networks through advanced data sharing and intelligence techniques. He wrote and negotiated the UK Principles of Reciprocity, the rules for credit and related data sharing, which now has over 400 participating retail finance companies and 350m records. He lectures frequently, most recently in June at University College London, on risk management, and where students included several from regulators internationally, including several from the London FSA.

Rod Morgan

Rod Morgan has lived in Bath (on Lower Lansdown) since 1972. He is Professor Emeritus, University of Bristol and Visiting Professor, Cardiff University and London School of Economics. He is co-editor of the most important undergraduate and postgraduate criminology text in the UK (The Oxford Handbook of Criminology, OUP, 5th edition, in preparation) and co-editor of the Handbook of Probation (Willan 2004) and many other books and articles on aspects of criminal justice ranging from policing to sentencing and penal policy. From 2001-4 he was HM Chief Inspector of Probation and from 2004-7 Chairman of the Youth Justice Board for England and Wales. He is actively involved in other aspects of life in Bath, principally to do with cultural activities and services for young people.

After graduating from St Andrews university with an MTheol, Sally took postgraduate studies and became a fully qualified lawyer in 1998. She now specialises in commercial property work at Stone King in Bath, dealing with all areas of non-contentious commercial property work for charitable, commercial and educational clients, with particular focus on development projects for schools, academies, and care home providers. Sally moved to Bath from Birmingham in 2007 with her husband. She is a volunteer for the Working Knowledge Group which provides employability and enterprise initiative activities for underprivileged children in the 14-19 sector and is chair of the Bath Chamber of Commerce Transport & Highways Committee.
